Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has hinted that
government is considering an extension of February 28 deadline set for
its land title documents and properties documentation under its
Homeowners’ Charter.Amosun, who was an inspection tour to Ifo and Ado -Odo/Ota Local Government Areas over the weekend to monitor the progress of the exercise, disclosed that government might extend time frame earlier given to property owners to perfect their title documents following complaints from concerned property owners
in the state.
He assured the people of the state while addressing the residents in the areas visited that all their complaints on the challenges observed in the scheme would be looked into, adding that more service centres would be provided with adequate personnel.
According to him, “I received text messages and e-mails telling me that people want us to extend the programme, and having come around today and see things myself, we will consider to their calls, go back home and see the possibility of extending it by maximim of a week or so.
“We will get more Portakabins as well as increase service delivery to make sure that thing is flawless without inconveniencing our people”, he added.
He noted that “the era of applying for Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and other titled documents and not getting it is over in this state. I am putting my integrity and that of the state on line and assure that things would not be like the past again”.
On the projected number of titled applicants which the governor put at 2,000,000, Amosun expressed optimism that the figure would be more, urging property owners to take advantage of the programme.
